Biography

Nina Perović completed her BA and specialist studies in composition at the Academy of Music in Cetinje, in the class of Professor Žarko Mirković. She simultaniously acquired a BA and specialist degree in piano in the class of Professors Aleksandar Serdar and Vladimir Bochkariov. Thanks to the Basileus scholarship, she continued her studies of composition at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, in the class of Professor Uroš Rojko, where she obtained her MA degree. She recieved a PhD Degree at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Professor Srđan Hofman. She also participated in the Postgraduate study program of Composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, with Professor Klaus Lang as her supervisor.

Nina Perović is a composer of acoustic and electronic music. Her ouvre includes compositions for symphony orchestra, vocal and chamber ensembles and solo instruments as well as music for theatre, films, and music for children. Her compositions have been performed in prestigious concert halls in the region, at numerous music festivals accross Europe. She has also attended various composition master classes and workshops (Donaueschingen, Impulse, Darmstadt).

She is currently completing training to become a certified Socio-Psychodrama Trainer in order to utilise a wide array of possibilities to incorporate psychodrama and its techniques into the process of creating a composition through communication with performers.

She works as a Music Analysis, Counterpoint and Arranging Teaching Assistant at the Music Academy in Cetinje, as well as a professor of Music Analysis. She is a member of the Department of Music at the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts.
